Beef Tacos

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • Half an onion
  • Oregano
  • Paprika
  • Cayenne
  • Salt
  • Black Pepper
  • Garlic Powder
  • Onion Powder
  • Ground Cumin
  • Chili Powder
  • Shredded Cheese
  • Tortillas
  • Fresh Limes

Method

  1. Heat pan and coat with vegetable oil. Put in the onions, sauté until fragrant and starts changing color, not quite brown, so when you throw in beef to cook the onions don’t burn.
  2. Put in beef. Stir to cook evenly.
  3. Put spices in. (i don’t have specific measuring for it all, I kind of go with feeling, so it’s hard to tell, but you can find specific teaspoon measurements online! It varies, but allrecipes.com tends to do a good job)
  4. Cook until it’s all evenly turned a color, turn off heat.
  5. Tortilla: medium heat, toast it on a separate pan, no oil. just toast it until it’s warm! It doesn’t take too long, if you overdo it, it gets a little tough/hard to bite into. I usually make the number of tortillas I want to eat and use the same pan for the cheese, but if you want you can use a separate pan for this and the cheese.
  6. Cheese: low-medium heat, sprinkle in circular motion and cover evenly making a similar size to the tortilla or even smaller, sizzle until it starts getting crisp
  7. Spoon some beef and put it in the center of the cheese vertically across
  8. Use spatula to fold the cheese over the meet like you’re wrapping it, on both sides. The crisp texture should allow the cheese to fold and stay
  9. Carefully transfer the cheese + beef onto a ready-made tortilla on plate
  10. Squeeze some lime juice, add salsa…
